Patrick Kinchsular

Hi there! I’m a PhD student in Linguistics at New York University and I love all sorts of topics in syntactic theory. My main research interests right now are in argument structure, Bantu languages, unifying interface, and mismatches between syntax-semantics. I aim to offer comparative analyses with broad predictions about the computational component of the human language faculty devoid of a specific language. I try to incorporate insights from Bantu languages to syntactic theory with particular attention paid towards underdocumented and underrepresented languages. Limits in syntactic expression are one of my favourite things to look at given what it says about us a people.
